App Updates
Check, verify, and apply coordinated Windows and macOS Zyper releases.
Open Settings → App → Updates to see the installed version and check the private release channel. Zyper verifies signed release metadata plus the downloaded artifact’s signature and hash before replacing the app.
Update behavior#
- Check for Updates refreshes the release state manually.
- Update Now downloads, verifies, applies, and relaunches the current platform build.
- Force update on startup applies an available update during launch. Leave it off if you prefer to review and trigger each update yourself.
Public releases are coordinated for Windows and macOS at the same version. A normal Windows publication is staged until the matching universal macOS build promotes the release.
macOS beta builds#
The normal beta is unsigned. On first launch, macOS may block it; open System Settings → Privacy & Security, approve Zyper, then launch it again. This approval is separate from Zyper’s own signed update-manifest verification.
Do not use a download from an unofficial mirror. Production signed/notarized macOS builds will remove the first-launch approval step once that release path is enabled.
If an update fails#
Keep Zyper in a stable writable folder, confirm the network can reach the release host, restart the app, and retry the manual check. If verification fails, do not bypass it—open Settings → App → Open Logs Folder and send the relevant update error and logs with a short description of what you expected and what happened. See Troubleshooting & Support.
